UNIT 3 – SELECTING AND RESEARCHING AT LEAST 2 ARTISTS

– Study at least 2 artists and at least 2 artworks each

– Must be from different time – historical and cultural contexts

– Be able to compare the artworks by at least 2 artists

– Consult with your teacher

– Go and see original artworks

– Attempt to select artists/artworks that are connected with your own art making AND attempt to select artworks where you can view the original – this is not always possible

– Refer to the key knowledge and skills – identify the key areas and the key terminology

– Select artists that compliment each other

– Fall in love with your artists – you need some passion to WOW the examiner in November – nobody wants to read a dull exam response
